At Aspen Ideas: Health<\/a>, our Global Collaborative Fellow Damon Chaplin<\/a> joined Rich Besser<\/a>, Megan Ranney<\/a>, Joseph Betancourt<\/a>, and Celine Gounder, MD, ScM, FIDSA<\/a> for a thoughtful mainstage conversation on what it means to truly serve communities through public health.<\/p>\n

The panel explored how the field\u2014strained by outdated systems, limited funding, and public skepticism\u2014must evolve. From addressing root causes to embracing community-led solutions, the message was clear:<\/p>\n

\u201cPublic health is done with communities.\u201d<\/p>\n

As we face ongoing challenges like food security, reproductive health, and infectious disease, the call was not just for innovation, but for intention\u2014working alongside those most affected and shifting from reactive strategies to proactive, people-first approaches.<\/p>\n
