He was born and raised in Mexico City, Mexico. He studied medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). After graduating from medical school in 2015, he completed his social service year as a primary-care physician in rural Chiapas with Compa\u00f1eros en Salud (CES). After finishing his social service year, Rodrigo served as the Community Health Programs Coordinator and Clinical Supervisor with CES, mainly working with Community Health Workers.
