Jamila Abbas is a Kenyan computer scientist, software engineer, and entrepreneur who co-founded M-Farm Kenya Limited, an online platform that connects small-scale farmers with agro-suppliers, weather forecasts, and real-time market information. She graduated with a degree in software engineering from Strathmore University and worked at the Kenya Medical Research Institute before immersing herself in Kenya’s tech community. Reconnecting with university friend Susan Oguya, Abbas helped form a team of five women that created M-Farm during the IPO48 competition, which they won in 2011. With the prize money, they incorporated M-Farm Kenya Limited, with Abbas as CEO. The platform has become a vital tool for empowering rural farmers through technology and market access.
