Primah Kwagala is a Ugandan human rights lawyer and CEO of the Women’s Probono Initiative, advocating for women’s access to health, emergency obstetric care, free medicines, and legal rights. She chairs the Female Lawyers section of the Uganda Law Society and has been honored with the 2020 Peace and Reconciliation Prize and EU Human Rights Defenders Award (2022), as well as being named a U.S. Embassy Woman of Courage. Kwagala has worked on strategic litigation and policy for CEHURD, was a 2012-2014 Advocacy Fellow at Columbia, and received the Aspen Institute New Voices Fellowship in 2018. Her organization has repatriated trafficking victims and exposed humanitarian abuses, including those by Renee Bach.
