Thilmeeza Hussain is a Maldivian civil servant and diplomat, former Permanent Representative to the UN and High Commissioner to Canada. Daughter of Sheikh Hussain Yoosuf, she served as State Minister for Home Affairs in 2009 and Deputy UN Representative until 2012. Appointed by President Solih as UN Ambassador in 2018 (confirmed December), she presented credentials in May 2019. Between public roles, she taught at Ramapo College, co-founded the Voice of Women NGO for women’s empowerment and climate justice, and co-chaired the US Climate Action Network’s equitable adaptation and mitigation team. She holds an M.S. in Business Management and a B.Com.
