Usman Ali Lawan is a licensed Business Development Service Provider (BDSP) with over a decade of experience in sustainable agriculture, agribusiness training, and development consulting. He is the founder of USAIFA International Limited, a climate-smart farming enterprise that promotes sustainable agricultural practices. Through a robust commercial contract farming system, USAIFA supports over 7,000 smallholder farmers across Nigeria with farm extension services, input credit, and market access, serving as a vital aggregator in the agricultural value chain.

Lawan brings over eight years of experience delivering practical training in agribusiness, entrepreneurship, and small business development. His programs have focused on agribusiness innovation, social entrepreneurship, and the growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

In addition, he has more than seven years of experience designing and implementing farmer cooperative development programs, vocational training, and livelihood support initiatives for both governmental and non-governmental organizations. His work includes collaborations with UNICEF, UN Women, and the NEEM Foundation.

Lawan has also spent over nine years managing communications strategy and stakeholder engagement for the World Bank–funded Federal Roads Development Project (FRDP), liaising with the Nigerian Ministry of Works, the African Development Bank, China Exim Bank, and national media.

His fundraising efforts have secured over $210,000 in grants, and he has contributed to multiple journal articles, published abstracts, and delivered presentations at national and international conferences.
