Dr. Renzo Guinto, a 2016 New Voices and 2023 Advanced Advocacy Fellow, co-authored the report “Vision 2030: Climate adaptation for improved cardiovascular-renal-metabolic health outcomes,” which examines how climate change is set to exacerbate the burden of cardiovascular, renal, and metabolic diseases and disrupt healthcare delivery worldwide. Drawing on a disease-specific lens, the report outlines a roadmap to 2030 where the effects of climate change on these conditions are minimized through equitable and inclusive care, and presents a comprehensive adaptation framework to strengthen health systems, protect vulnerable populations, and reduce the sector’s carbon footprint.
