Serufusa is the Director of Policy & Partnerships (AMR) at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) in London. As part of the corporate government affairs team, he provides strategic and impactful support to advance GSK’s global commitments to combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR). He also plays a key role in GSK’s engagement with China through the GSK China Institute of Infectious Diseases and Public Health in Beijing.

Previously, Serufusa served as the Director of a new initiative at the Aspen Institute in Washington, D.C., the Aspen Management Partnership for Health. In this role, he led efforts to support ministries of health in the Global South by bringing catalytic private-sector management expertise and capacity to the public health sector. Through partnerships with leading corporations, the initiative applied business-minded strategies to strengthen health systems, particularly in the area of community health.

A trained medical doctor, Serufusa has also worked as a consultant in global health policy and strategy with Oxford Policy Management in the UK.

He is deeply passionate about strengthening health systems and is particularly committed to managing and fostering talent in global health leadership. A strong advocate for South–South cooperation, Serufusa emphasizes collaboration between China and Africa in health development. He was recognized as a Young Global Leader at the 2013 Ministerial Forum for China–Africa Health Development.
