Donald SINGUE is a development economist and finance expert who guides African Governments on strengthening their financial resilience against climate change and being better prepared to face climate extremes. Spearheading the Africa Disaster Risk Financing (ADRiFi) Programme at the African Development Bank, Donald works to reduce the impacts of extreme climate events including droughts, floods, tropical cyclones, etc. on governments, businesses, and vulnerable communities by supporting the adoption of insurance as a powerful tool for adaptation to climate change. He has designed and implemented projects in over 20 countries in Africa and gained extensive knowledge on challenges hindering funding for early response to natural disasters. He use his more than 10 years of experience on climate policy to raise awareness advocate for adequate funding to enable communities to rebuild and recover from natural disasters.
