Announced at COP28: The Climate Gender Equity Fund awards grants to 3 organizations supporting women-led climate solutions in Africa

| December 13, 2023

A year after launching the Climate Gender Equity Fund (CGEF), a public-private partnership focused on catalyzing gender equity in climate finance, Amazon and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) have announced the first cohort of organizations selected to receive grants from CGEF to advance gender-equitable climate action in Africa.

WomHub, led and co-founded by 2019 New Voices Fellow, Naadiya Mossajee and Hema Vallabh, is one of the three organizations selected for this grant.

As an accelerator that has supported more than 2,000 female STEM-business founders with funding, financial readiness skills, and leadership support, Mossajee and Vallabh plan to use the CGEF grant to grow WomHub’s virtual accelerator program that provides female founders with a dedicated coach, as well as to make additional grants to new startups.
