Power in Place: Community-Led Climate and Food Sovereignty Work on Chicago’s South Side
This panel will explore how South Side Chicago organizations are responding to the climate crisis through community-centered eco-economies that center local supply chains and community intelligence, assets, and skills. Physical infrastructure investment anchored by Green ERA Chicago Campus, Grow Greater Englewood, and Growing Home— are co-creating models for a just transition by leveraging land, clean energy infrastructure, local food production, nature corridor restoration, and cooperative development through asset mapping and community food navigation, co-developing strategies and sharing resources for resilience.
